Classical & Orchestral Performances with Ramy Adly

Blending the oud with orchestral power and timeless classics

The Orchestra Music Program

The orchestra has long been the pinnacle of musical collaboration, blending strings, winds, brass, and percussion into a single voice. Yet, few have experienced the addition of the oud—one of the world’s oldest instruments—within this setting.

Ramy Adly’s Orchestra Music Program changes that, bringing a sound that is both ancient and revolutionary into the concert hall.

Ramy has been invited by orchestras and cathedrals to perform his own epic compositions, including Day of War and The Siege, which bring cinematic power to the oud’s voice.

Alongside these, he performs classical masterpieces such as Schindler’s List by John Williams, Adagio for Strings, and Ave Maria. Each piece gains a new dimension when enriched by the oud, whose timbre adds warmth, mystery, and emotional intensity to the orchestral palette.

The oud as a bridge between East, West, and timeless traditions

Expanding the Orchestral Language

This program is not only about adding an instrument to an orchestra — it is about expanding the language of orchestral music.

The oud, often called the ancestor of the lute and guitar, represents a bridge between East and West, between history and the present. Ramy’s performances reimagine what an orchestra can be, drawing audiences into a global sound that is at once familiar and entirely new.

Ramy follows in the path of legendary figures such as Naseer Shamma, who brought the oud to the Cairo Opera House, while also carving his own legacy on international stages.

With well-written compositions and collaborations with world-class musicians, Ramy’s orchestral concerts have been described as both epic and intimate, filled with artistry, storytelling, and cultural depth.

Because orchestral performances require large-scale preparation and scheduling, Ramy accepts only a limited number of engagements each year. Presenters are encouraged to contact early to secure a place in the performance calendar.

By hosting this program, your audience will witness something rare: the meeting of the oud’s ancient resonance with the orchestra’s majestic power — a concert experience unlike any other.
